Havva Zorlu

Havva Zorlu was born on June 3, 1998 in Antalya. She studied journalism at Hüsniye Özdilek Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School between 2012-2016. Then, completed her undergraduate education at Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Photography in 2022.

As she faced animal exploitation in our anthropocentric world, Havva realized the necessity of activism for animal liberation. In 2021, she started to generate images to see and make visible the lives of animals jailed by humans.

In 2022, she joined the participating team of animal photojournalism agency We Animals Media with her photography projects about dairy farms and cow slaughterhouses. She held the photography exhibition titled “MILK” in the scope of her undergraduate thesis titled “Vegan Activism and Animal Photojournalism” that she wrote in 2022.

She prepared a joint project with We Animals Media in order to bring visibility about what animals went through in 2022 Eid al-Adha, and documented the process in various regions of Izmir.

She continues her works in the field of photography with documentary photography and experimental image generation techniques.
