Freedom for Dolphins Platform is an independent animal rights group advocating to end all types of animal captivity in Turkey with a greater focus on wild animals and marine mammals. Since 2010, the Platform has achieved success in shutting down two dolphin parks in Turkey, prevented two new dolphinaria from opening and convinced various companies from various sectors to stop supporting the captive industry, while bringing up the issue to the agenda of Turkish Parliament. In collaboration and in solidarity with local and international activists and non-governmental organizations, the Platform continues to organize campaigns, protests and lobbying activities for both public awareness and legislative change for the elimination of animal suffering at large, regardless of species. The fight continues to end the exploitation of all nonhuman animals.
