Rights for Animal Rights Advocates (RARA) is an international organization that aims to ensure animal rights advocates work or volunteer under just and sustainable conditions, for the sake of humans and nonhumans alike. RARA’s goal is to make sure advocates remain vital participants in the animal rights movement for as long as possible so they can do their best work for the animals. Only then can the movement flourish and operate at its full potential. Issues RARA addresses are harassment and discrimination, activist burnout and PTSD, exploitation of volunteer work, overwork and underpay, lack of basic rights such as health care and informal and unprotected work.
